Legacy Silverton ED Expansion

Overview

The Legacy Silverton Medical Center in Silverton, Oregon is a 48-bed non-profit hospital that is located in the heart of Silverton, where it has stood as a pillar of support in the community since 1917. The 111,000-square-foot hospital now has a brand new emergency department, imaging suite, and is life flight capable. Legacy Silverton MC serves the Mid-Willamette Valley from Silverton and Salem, to Woodburn and Molalla.

Our Work

Scopes: Light-gauge steel framing, drywall, cold-formed metal framing, exterior claddings, fireproofing, cement plaster, acoustical ceilings, acoustic wall panels, health equipment support steel, wall/door protection, bathroom accessories, integrated x-ray shielding assemblies.

WPI worked hand-in-hand with Andersen Construction to construct a brand new 20,000-square-foot Emergency Department expansion onto the existing Legacy Silverton Medical Center, as well as its follow-on tie-in and remodel work. The project included the intricate retention and protection of live medical systems to current patients of the existing hospital and birthing center while developing the framework to support new life saving infrastructure. The exterior of the expansion was hand built by WPI’s local seasoned Union Carpenters starting in December 2023 with Steel Framing, Custom Thermally Efficient Cladding, and a Traditional 3-Coat Stucco Finish. The interior was similarly crafted with reverent dedication and attention to detail as the Drywall, Finishes, Specialty Acoustical Ceilings, and Wall Protections were put in place. WPI took great care in fostering a team of Carpenters, Plasterers, Tapers, and Laborers local to the community that Legacy Silverton supports, knowing that they will take the greatest care and pride in creating a part of their own community.

Result

The Legacy Silverton Medical Center ED Expansion and Remodel Project had several challenges that WPI’s team adapted to and overcame amid the remaining fallout of Covid-19 and schedule changes. These challenges allowed WPI’s team to develop into leaders and innovators to create solutions, encourage collaboration, and drive completion. Legacy Silverton is now more capable than ever to care for our community, and to accomplish their axiom.
