Driven by a commitment to people

1967

Mike Roach lands his first construction job at Nunnellee Supply in Salem, Oregon, driving trucks, cleaning up job sites, and learning apprentice-level carpentry.

1972

WPI is founded by Mike and Pam Roach out of the basement of their home in Salem, Oregon, providing framing and drywall services while using a mini-storage unit as additional space.

1980

WPI moves to NE Portland and rents space from Ivan L. Sletta Company. Soon after, the two companies merge and establish plastering and fireproofing divisions.

1988

WPI completes work on the original Nike Campus in Beaverton, Oregon, one of its largest projects to date.

1990

Mike Roach serves as the NWCB President from 1990-1991.

1991

WPI purchases a new office building and moves its headquarters to Tigard, Oregon.

1997

WPI completes work on US Federal Courthouse in Portland, Oregon.

2000

WPI expands into Washington state with a new regional office in Seattle following the acquisition of Wall Finishes, Inc., and launches a dedicated plaster division.

2002

WPI opens a regional office in Eugene, Oregon, making it the second office in the state.

2006

In May of 2006, WPI expands their business in the state of Washington by opening a regional office in Spokane.

2008

Victor Roach is named President, and Angela Roach becomes Executive Vice President. WPI completes the massive Mirabella Retirement Community project in Seattle, Washington.

2015

WPI expands into the Nevada market by opening a regional office in Reno.

2016

WPI launches fresh branding efforts with a new logo, tagline, website, and an enterprise software platform to streamline its growing operations.

2016

WPI PreFab launches to offer innovative prefabrication solutions to our clients.

2017

After being located in Tigard, Oregon for over 25 years, the WPI corporate office moves to its new state of the art office facility complete with 19,000-square-foot prefabrication plant in Wilsonville, Oregon.

2017

WPI expands further and opens a regional office in Salt Lake City, Utah.

2018

WPI continues its growth into the Southwestern United States by adding regional offices in Albuquerque, New Mexico and Las Vegas, Nevada.

2021

WPI has a long-standing track record in mission-critical and data center construction. In 2021, WPI launches a dedicated Mission Critical division to drive innovation and set new standards in the industry.

2022

2022 marked WPI’s 50th anniversary. The Roach family’s hard work, sacrifice, and dedication have led WPI to where it is today. WPI’s success can also be traced to the exceptional people pushing the business forward in ways the Roaches never thought possible. What started as a small family business has grown into a company that employs over 1,600 people across nine states and shows no signs of slowing down.

2022

WPI continues to expand and opens regional offices in Phoenix, Arizona and Boise, Idaho.

2024

WPI’s Manufacturing division is established to push the limits of hot and cold aisle containment solutions, delivering exactly what our clients need in this rapidly evolving sector—faster and more efficiently than ever before.
