PDX Concourse B

Overview

PDX Concourse B is a brand-new addition to the PDX airport, which brings a bright and vibrant space for travelers to enjoy while they wait for their flights. The new area includes gates for Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air along with two local restaurant favorites: Screen Door and Good Coffee. The concourse is a major improvement for the already highly rated Portland International Airport. Our team took on fifteen different of scopes that shaped nearly every aspect of PDX Concourse B and we delivered all of this while working on a tight schedule in an active airport.

Result

Originally schedule to start at the end of 2019, the project was delayed by nearly a year due to permitting, issues encountered during excavation of the site, and impacts of COVID. The completion date of the project could not move due to contractual obligations; Alaska Airlines needed to have the concourse operational in time for 2021 holiday flights and WPI planned to deliver. Our team worked on a plan with Hoffman/Skanska to meet the scheduled end date and we couldn’t be happier with the way our team responded to the challenge in order to meet this crucial deadline.
