WPI played a large part in helping transform an old parking lot into a new 21-story high rise in the heart of the Goose Hollow District of Portland, Oregon.  The project included four levels of underground parking, 314 mixed 3-bed, 2-bed, 1-bed, and studio apartments with ground level and rooftop amenities. The exterior of the tower was prefabricated by our PreFab team offsite with 914 panels that included a finished corium brick cladding, that required no outside access to the building after the panels were set. This allowed our team onsite to install upwards of 20 finished panels a day and enclose the exterior envelope, while chasing concrete pours above. WPI knew from the beginning this was going to be a challenging yet rewarding project that we will look back on and be proud of for years to come. In 2022, WPI received a NWCB Project of the Year award for its work on the Alta ART Tower.

Result

The project had several challenges that both our PreFab and onsite team faced amid the Covid-19 pandemic. However, that didn’t stop our team from coming together and exhausting all options to get material from overseas and complete the project within schedule. ART Tower now adds much needed housing options to the Goose Hollow District, in addition to the renewed look the tower brings to this area of Portland.
