In September 2008, WPI finished construction of the new Nordstrom store at the Tacoma Mall in Tacoma, Washington. The new store was built adjacent to the old store which was built in 1966. The new store allows Nordstrom to bring the latest store design concepts to Tacoma area customers. With a size of 138,000sf, the new store offers an expanded selection of designer brands and a number of new services including in store alterations, a restaurant and an espresso bar. WPI played an important role in the construction of this new high end apparel and shoe store. WPI’s scope of work on this project included installation of interior and exterior metal stud framing, drywall, firestopping, fireproofing, Glass Fiber Reinforced Gypsum (GFRG) panels, stucco, thermal insulation, access panels, doors, door frames, and an Exterior Insulation Finishing System (EIFS).
