In September 2008, WPI finished construction of the new Nordstrom store at the Tacoma Mall. The new store was built adjacent to the old store which was built in 1966. The new store allows Nordstrom to bring the latest store design concepts to Tacoma area customers. With a size of 138,000 square feet, the new store offers an expanded selection of designer brands and a number of new services including in store alterations, a restaurant, and an espresso bar. The old building was demolished to make room for 60,000 square feet of additional shops and restaurants.
WPI played an important role in the construction of this new high end apparel and shoe store. WPI’s scope of work on this project included installation of interior and exterior metal stud framing, drywall, fire-stopping, fireproofing, Glass Fiber Reinforced Gypsum (GFRG) panels, stucco, thermal insulation, access panels, doors, door frames, and an Exterior Insulation Finishing System (EIFS).
WPI employees are proud to have been a critical part in the successful completion of the beautiful new Nordstrom store at the Tacoma Mall.
