After fourteen months of construction, WPI finished work on the Virginia Mason Athletic Center (VMAC) in October, 2008. The VMAC is a privately funded sport facility situated on 19 acres along the beautiful shores of Lake Washington in Renton, Washington.
This three story, state of the art facility is approximately 200,000 square feet in size, including an enclosed regulation size indoor practice field. The VMAC also features a cafeteria, weight room, team auditorium, locker room, lounge, team meeting rooms, and media production studios. In addition, there are three outdoor training fields with access for fans to observe the Seahawks’ training camp.
WPI played an important role in the construction of the Virginia Mason Athletic Center. WPI’s scope of work on this project included the installation of interior and exterior metal stud framing, drywall, acoustical ceilings, wood ceilings, plaster, and door frames.
