In August 2008, WPI completed work on the addition of the Madison Ballroom and meeting spaces to the luxurious Renaissance Seattle Hotel. Renaissance Hotels, owned and operated by Marriott International, Inc., offer discerning guests destinations with unique character and histories. The impressive Renaissance Seattle Hotel is no exception. Along with the new ballroom and meeting spaces, this hotel offers 553 guest rooms and 28 floors with stunning views of Downtown Seattle, the Puget Sound, and Washington’s spectacular Olympic Mountain Range.
Prior to breaking ground on this project, key WPI personnel worked hand in hand with Michael Whalen Architects on design and constructability issues. This included making sure the new ballroom addition was visually tied in to the existing building while ensuring proper waterproofing. WPI’s scope of work on this project included interior and exterior metal framing along with the installation of handcrafted wood wall panels, drywall, and multi-tiered stepped soffits. In addition, WPI crafted a one of a kind custom installation of a stucco rain screen system incorporated in a Exterior Insulation and Finish System (EIFS) system. This unique solution enabled the owner to have the full rain screen stucco system they desired, along with the reveals and architectural elements necessary to match the existing building.
WPI employees are proud to have played an important role in the completion of the new ballroom and meeting spaces at the impressive Renaissance Seattle Hotel.
