Job Description

The Project Engineer will assist the Project Manager with the setup, management, and closeout of projects at the Regional office or Jobsite to accomplish project objectives by planning, scheduling, and executing project activities throughout each phase to completion.

  • Understand and comply with all WPI policies, procedures, and corporate safety program.
  • Actively participate in the safety plans and measures of the assigned projects.
  • Review contract language, scope of work, and special provisions in the contract. Make sure project team members are aware of these items.
  • Assist with the buyout and procurement of material, subcontractor, and engineering quotes.
  • Prepare RFI’s, submittals, and shop drawings.
  • Support and visit assigned job sites and participate in job meetings as required.
  • Price change requests and update the budget promptly.
  • Prepare, review, and report weekly productions.
  • Review the weekly job cost report with the project Foreman and team.
  • Prepare billings and approve invoices for payment.
  • Track progress and spending, ensuring the work is completed on time and within budget.
  • Support the implementation of job schedules.
  • Coordinate warranties, O&M’s, and closeout on projects.

Requirements

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Science, Construction Management, Business, Accounting, or related field.

Minimum Requirements

  • Ability to diagnose and process key information, recognize critical areas on the job that could impact profitability, and then actively navigate the project away from risks and liabilities for a successful outcome.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills is required.
  • Ability to work in team environment is required.
  • Strong customer service skills are required.
  • Ability to multitask, think critically, and problem-solve is required.

Job Description

The Project Manager will oversee project operations at the regional office or jobsite and accomplish project objectives by planning, scheduling, and executing project activities throughout each phase to completion. 

  • Understand and comply with all WPI policies, procedures, and corporate safety program.
  • Actively participate in the safety plans and measures of the assigned projects.
  • Manage projects from start to finish.
  • Review contract language, scope of work, and special provisions in the contract. Make sure project team members are aware of these items.
  • Get material, subcontractor, and engineering quotes from at least three (3) separate vendors (project buyout).
  • Assist in selecting the vendors and coordinate materials and equipment.
  • Verify quantities, units, and hours in the reverse takeoff process.
  • Prepare RFI’s, submittals, and shop drawings.
  • Clear understanding of our building systems and how they relate to the building process.
  • Coordinate and develop construction project schedules.
  • Support the branch through positive customer relations and active participation in the Customer Alignment Plan.
  • Support and visit assigned job sites and participate in job meetings as required.
  • See to quantitative takeoffs to verify estimates, order materials and price change orders.
  • Price change requests and update the budget promptly.
  • Prepare, review, and report weekly productions.
  • Review the weekly job cost report with the project Foreman and team.
  • Prepare billings and approve invoices for payment.
  • Track progress and spending, ensuring the work is completed on time and within budget.
  • Create and implement job schedules, coordinate with field supervisors and foremen and effectively communicate issues to negotiate the optimal position for our trade in the work sequence.
  • Perform labor control on assigned projects, including setup and maintenance; use this tool to make adjustments as necessary to maximize profits.
  • Coordinate warranties and O&M’s.
  • Complete and be accountable for the job cost control measures through monthly Financial Analysis Worksheets (FAW’s) on assigned projects.
  • Provides project team leadership throughout construction project development.

  • Minimum 5 years of construction experience in framing and drywall
  • Minimum 1 year of OSHPD/HCAI experience in framing and drywall

The Project Safety Coordinator’s objective is to provide a safe and healthful workplace and administer the WPI Safety Program in a manner that promotes a trusting and team-oriented environment for all workers.

  • Understand and comply with all WPI policies, procedures, and corporate safety program.

  • Facilitate implementation of work control permits and evaluation process.
  • Be proactive in meeting with GC Safety Managers to ensure goals are met for improvement of both companies safety cultures.
  • Facilitate the onsite drug and alcohol testing program.
  • Participate in all meetings as required.

  • Must possess one of the following Board of Certified Safety Professionals designations: CST, CHST, OHST, STS-C, ASP

Job Description

The Receiving & Inventory Coordinator role requires a detail-oriented and organized individual to manage incoming shipments and ensure inventory counts are accurate and up to date. This role logs all inventory movements in spreadsheets or computer system, flagging shortages to Purchasing, and partnering with Manufacturing to expedite delivery of materials. This function is critical in ensuring accurate inventory control, material availability, invoice reconciliation, timely receiving processes, and maintaining a smooth flow of materials into the manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage receipts of all products, materials, and supplies, evaluating deliveries and product levels to improve inventory control procedures.
  • Receive, inspect, and verify all incoming shipments against purchase orders or invoices.
  • Collaborate with internal Logistics Coordinator and Material Handlers to arrange for movement of goods.
  • Log and document all received items in the inventory management system to maintain timely and accurate inventory data.
  • Ensure that all part numbers and quantity match those noted on packing slips and that any special storage instructions are followed.
  • Coordinate with carriers for pickups, deliveries, and tracking of shipments.
  • Report and resolve shipping errors, damages, or shortages promptly.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other warehouse equipment (as certified).
  • Communicate effectively with other departments, suppliers, and logistics providers.
  • Handle issue resolution and disposition of damaged materials.
  • Monitor demand and analyze space planning to anticipate future storage and logistical needs.
  • Ensure adherence to environmental management policies and systems.
  • Adheres to all applicable safety procedures and OSHA regulations for material handling.
  • Maintain a clean and organized shipping/receiving area.

Location / Hours

  • On site in/near Columbus, OH. Day shift, 40 hours per week.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • At least 3 years of previous experience in shipping and receiving, or warehouse operations
  • Familiarity with inventory software, shipping systems (e.g., FedEx, UPS), and basic computer skills
  • Strong IT systems knowledge, including advanced Excel skills
  • Advanced organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong sense of time organization and urgency
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for long periods
  • Forklift certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain)

Qualifications

  • Must possess one of the following: a degree in occupational health and safety, or a BCSP certification of CHST, SMS, ASP, or CSP, and a minimum of 3 years working as a construction safety professional.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of EHS programs, practices, and regulations within the region.
  • Must develop a general understanding of the business, including our market and clients.
  • Must be able to identify resources and gather and organize data from multiple sources, including conducting independent research on regulations and procedures.

Job Description

The Senior Structural Engineer is a high-level position for an individual with previous work experience in cold formed steel framing who holds a professional engineer license in a state that WPI operates in. The primary responsibility will be preparing construction drawings for a wide variety of projects involving cold formed steel. Major WPI projects include exterior curtain walls, interior partitions and ceiling, prefabricated wall panels, structural ceilings, and data center containment. Our major industries are healthcare, higher education, mission critical data centers, and other commercial construction.

This is a unique role in that you will be working directly with the project foremen, superintendents, and project managers who are also your co-workers. This position bridges the gap between engineering and construction. If you are interested in working more on the construction side of the industry, this position may be right for you.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Expert knowledge of cold formed steel design. Including but not limited to curtain walls, load bearing walls, floor and ceiling framing, connections, and AISI standards.
  • Strong familiarity with cold formed steel construction methods.

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welder/Fabricator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess certifications in AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code and demonstrate proficiency in the 3G (Vertical) position. This role involves welding, cutting, and fabricating metal components while ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency in all tasks.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform welding and fabrication tasks using MIG welding techniques in accordance with industry standards and project specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately construct and assemble components.

Job Description

The Project Engineer will assist the Project Manager with the setup, management, and closeout of projects at the Regional office or Jobsite to accomplish project objectives by planning, scheduling, and executing project activities throughout each phase to completion. This is an entry-level construction management position. 

  • Understand and comply with all WPI policies, procedures, and corporate safety program.
  • Actively participate in the safety plans and measures of the assigned projects.
  • Review contract language, scope of work, and special provisions in the contract. Make sure project team members are aware of these items.

We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Welding Inspector to join our team. The Construction Estimator is accountable for plan takeoffs, setting estimated costs, and preparing project bids and budgets. This position is also required to estimate a project by collecting proposals, blueprints, specifications, and associated records. The Logistics Specialist role is responsible for managing the flow of goods from suppliers to the WPI factory, back out to value-add suppliers, and ultimately then on to end customers. Basic Requirements

  • At least 3 years’ proven work experience as a Logistics Manager
  • Attention to detail and able to support multiple complex deployment projects simultaneously
  • Good understanding of supply chain processes and their interdependencies
  • Strong IT systems knowledge, including advanced Excel skills
  • Knowledge and experience of using ERP/MRP systems
  • Proficient in standard logistics software
  • Ability to work autonomously and exercises discretion and independent judgement
  • Project management skills
  • Commercial and financial acumen with a full understanding of the impact of failure in terms of business cost, production schedules and customer order fulfilment

Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Operations Management
  • Expert knowledge of technical regulations related to logistics such as import/export and customs regulations, including security requirements and dangerous goods handling
  • APICS CLTD certification
  • Knowledge of lean techniques would be advantageous
