Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Safety Professional to lead and improve safety performance within our fabrication, powder coating, and assembly manufacturing facility. This role ensures compliance with OSHA standards and environmental health and safety (EHS) regulations, while driving continuous improvement in safety metrics.
Key Responsibilities
- Develops, implements, and maintains safety programs to ensure worker safety and regulatory compliance in a manufacturing environment.
- Improve facility safety statistics through proactive initiatives and continuous monitoring.
- Process and document all safety incidents, ensuring timely reporting and corrective actions.
- Conduct safety orientations for new employees and ongoing training for staff.
- Inspect, evaluate and report on workplace environments and practices for safety standards and compliance.
- Lead Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) for incidents and near misses, implementing effective solutions.
- Work cross functionally in support of safety initiatives, best practices and company goals
- Administer and deliver training on equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, gantry cranes, powder coating equipment, and respirator fit testing.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date training records for all employees.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA and EHS standards.
- Monitor environmental compliance, including waste management, air quality, and chemical handling.
- Maintain accurate safety records and prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies.
- Proactively collaborate with supervisors and managers to integrate safety into daily operations.
Qualifications
- OSHA 30-hour certification required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in safety management within a manufacturing environment (fabrication, powder coating, and assembly preferred).
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, EHS practices, and industrial safety standards.
- Excellent communication and training skills.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement effective solutions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management software.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with ISO 14001 or similar environmental management systems.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
