Providence North Pavilion

In April 2009, after more than two years of construction, WPI finished up their extensive scope of work to help create Portland’s latest cutting edge cancer treatment and research center, the Providence North Pavilion. The new cancer center includes unique immunotherapy research facilities, an integrative medicine program, a medical spa, a surgical services suite and 250 patient rooms. The new space features twenty-one high tech operating rooms, a 50,000sf oncology outpatient clinic, and a state of the art underground High Dosage Radiation (HDR) room.

WPI’s scope of work on this project included sprayed on fireproofing, structural and light gauge metal framing, building insulation, sheetrock, acoustical ceilings, linear wood ceilings, metal panel ceilings, and Glass Fiber Reinforced Gypsum (GFRG) columns.

For the excellent acoustical ceiling work completed on the Providence North Pavilion, WPI was awarded the 2009 Outstanding Project of the Year Award in the Commercial Suspended Acoustical Ceilings category by the Northwest Wall & Ceiling Bureau. The employees of WPI are proud to have played an important part in the construction of this high tech cancer research a nd treatment facility.
