Job Description

The Administrative Assistant is responsible for supporting the office and are primarily clerical in nature, requiring some jobsite responsibilities.

  • Understand and comply with all WPI policies, procedures, and corporate safety program.
  • Answer telephones and direct callers to the appropriate associate. Greet and direct visitors to the company politely and professionally.
  • Provide callers with information such as company address, directions to the company location, company fax numbers, company website and other related information.
  • Receive, sort and forward incoming mail. Coordinate the pick-up and delivery of express mail services (FedEx, UPS, etc.). Contact office staff when packages are received for them.
  • Assist in the ordering, receiving, stocking and distribution of office supplies and keeps the supply closet well stocked.
  • Assist potential new hires when filling out applications (print, fill out I-9 information) and forward to payroll for processing.
  • Coordinate Drug Testing paperwork for new hires and send them for pre-employment drug screens.
  • Event coordination, lunch event planning, travel reservations. 
  • Check stock of paper towels, plates, sugar, creamer, and all other kitchen supplies and send notifications when items are running low.
  • Coordination of office services such as Cleaning Company, HVAC Maintenance, Water/Ice, security service, Waste management, and Coffee services.
  • Be creative in the development of new systems, forms, and ideas for increased efficiencies.
  • Be proactive in supporting safety plans and practices.

  • Able to stand and sit for long periods of time.

Minimum Requirements

  • Able to learn new software programs and work with multiple operating systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills is required.
  • Ability to work in team environment is required.
  • Strong customer service skills are required.
  • Ability to multitask, think critically, and problem-solve is required.
  • Ability to learn new job skills by engaging in the technical aspects of the job and applying new skills as they are taught.

Job Description

The General Foreman assumes responsibility for their department operations on all projects in their respective region. The General Foreman will act as liaison and facilitator for estimating, purchasing, project management, safety and accounting to ensure that effective communication takes place to impact overall performance of individual projects.

This role is based out of our Las Vegas office but will require daily work at a project site in Mammoth Lakes, California. Candidates who are not local to Mammoth Lakes must be willing to relocate, either permanently or temporarily for the duration of the project. For those relocating temporarily, we will provide housing assistance and a per diem.

 

  • Understand and comply with all WPI policies, procedures, and corporate safety program.
  • Actively participate in the safety plans and measures of the assigned projects.
  • Conduct ongoing safety audits/inspections.
  • Communicate WPI standards to the Foremen and crew.
  • Manage manpower for all projects.
  • Request Job Foremen compensation adjustments to be approved by General Superintendent.
  • Collaborate with estimating staff and review bids.
  • Request approval of the Department Manager and General Superintendent regarding any incentives or pay raises to employees who demonstrate excellent performance.
  • Provide coaching when field employees are performing below standard expectations.
  • Provide appropriate discipline. Keep records on disciplinary issues.
  • Be familiar with the termination and discipline procedures required by WPI and trade unions in the region.
  • Work with Job Foreman to develop a well-coordinated and organized job that has all the tools, equipment, and material available for an effective job start-up and ongoing safe workflow.
  • Review plans and specs early with Estimator (exclusions, addenda, etc.).
  • Assign Job Foreman, with General Superintendent and Department Manager input.
  • Be involved in budget creation with Project Manager, Estimator, and Job Foreman.
  • Ensure that Job Foremen read, review, and develop a thorough, detailed understanding and familiarity with all contract documents (specifications, drawings, addenda, contracts, etc.).
  • Meet with general contractor superintendent and their project team (PM, PE, etc.) before and during job to clarify expectations.
  • Attend WPI pre-job meeting as well as any post-job meetings.
  • Participate in “Target Budgeting” for all major projects – assist in setting realistic production goals and get “buy in” from Job Foreman and crew.
  • Conduct weekly planning meeting with project team.
  • Review take-offs and work plan.
  • Attend all Department monthly regional GPR meetings.
  • Attend all SQP (Safety, Quality, and Production) job walks with Project Manager, Estimator and Job Foreman.
  • Hold Job Foremen accountable for completing all paperwork.
  • Maintain WPI’s industry reputation for the highest quality.
  • Ensure that Job Foremen are monitoring quality with the complete QA/QC system.
  • Communicate instructions and expectations specifically and clearly to the Job Foreman.
  • Review, measure and communicate actual productions.
  • Review production reports.
  • Share/exchange knowledge gained with other Regional General Superintendents and General Foremen.
  • Maintain clear and constant communication with all departments, administration, and operations.

 

Requirements

Basic Requirements

  • At least 10 years of construction work experience.
  • Jobsite Foreman level experience in your trade.
  • Union member
  • Willingness to work in remote location (Mammoth Lakes, CA area)

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of construction experience in framing and drywall
  • Minimum 1 year of OSHPD/HCAI experience in framing and drywall
  • Ability to diagnose and process key information, recognize critical areas on the job that could impact profitability, and then actively navigate the project away from risks and liabilities for a successful outcome.
  • A clear understanding of how to read and understand specifications and drawings is required.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills is required.
  • Ability to work in team environment is required.

The Project Engineer will assist the Project Manager with the setup, management, and closeout of projects at the Regional office or Jobsite to accomplish project objectives by planning, scheduling, and executing project activities throughout each phase to completion.

  • Support and visit assigned job sites and participate in job meetings as required.
  • Price change requests and update the budget promptly.
  • Prepare, review, and report weekly productions.
  • Review the weekly job cost report with the project Foreman and team.
  • Prepare billings and approve invoices for payment.
  • Track progress and spending, ensuring the work is completed on time and within budget.
  • Support the implementation of job schedules.
  • Coordinate warranties, O&M’s, and closeout on projects.

Job Description

The Project Manager will oversee project operations at the Regional office or jobsite and accomplish project objectives by planning, scheduling, and executing project activities throughout each phase to completion.   • Assist in selecting the vendors and coordinate materials and equipment.
  • Verify quantities, units, and hours in the reverse takeoff process.
  • Prepare RFI’s, submittals, and shop drawings.
  • Clear understanding of our building systems and how they relate to the building process.
  • Coordinate and develop construction project schedules.
  • Support the branch through positive customer relations and active participation in the Customer Alignment Plan.
  • Support and visit assigned job sites and participate in job meetings as required.
  • See to quantitative takeoffs to verify estimates, order materials and price change orders.
  • Price change requests and update the budget promptly.
  • Prepare, review, and report weekly productions.
  • Review the weekly job cost report with the project Foreman and team.
  • Prepare billings and approve invoices for payment.
  • Track progress and spending, ensuring the work is completed on time and within budget.
  • Create and implement job schedules, coordinate with field supervisors and foremen and effectively communicate issues to negotiate the optimal position for our trade in the work sequence.
  • Perform labor control on assigned projects, including setup and maintenance; use this tool to make adjustments as necessary to maximize profits.
  • Coordinate warranties and O&M’s.
  • Complete and be accountable for the job cost control measures through monthly Financial Analysis Worksheets (FAW’s) on assigned projects.
  • Provides project team leadership throughout construction project development.
