Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Welding Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of welding projects with applicable codes, standards, and specifications. This role requires attention to detail, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform visual and non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections on welded structures and components.
  • Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and project specifications (AWS, ASME, API, ISO, etc.).
  • Review and interpret welding procedures, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Monitor welding processes to ensure proper technique, equipment use, and material specifications.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, reports, and quality control records.
  • Identify and report defects, non-conformities, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with engineers, welders, and quality assurance teams to resolve welding-related issues.
  • Conduct welder performance qualification tests and maintain certification records.
  • Stay up to date with industry developments, safety regulations, and best practices.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) credential from AWS or equivalent certification (CSWIP, ISO 9712, API 570/653, etc.).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in welding inspection or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of welding codes and standards (AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, API 1104, etc.).
  • Experience with non-destructive testing methods such as VT, PT, MT, UT, or RT.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and welding symbols.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and industry best practices.
  • Ability to work in various environments, including field and shop settings.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional certifications in NDT methods (e.g., ASNT Level II in UT, RT, PT, MT).
  • Experience in oil & gas, construction, manufacturing, or aerospace industries.
  • Knowledge of welding metallurgy and material properties.

Work Conditions:

  • May require travel to job sites or sub-vendor fabrication facilities to perform weld/ welding inspections, review and comment on QA/QC procedures put in place by other fabrication partners.
  • Working in a steel fabrication shop requires PPE and requires the Welding Inspector to walk the fabrication floor and work with the welding crews all shift
  • Ability to stand for long periods, lift moderate weights and communicate with the shop welding crews.
  • Normal working hours are 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday.

Position Summary

The Powder Coat Operator is responsible for the preparation, application, and inspection of powder coating on metal components according to job specifications. This role ensures proper surface preparation, accurate coating coverage, and consistent finish quality while adhering to safety and production standards.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Powder Coating Application
    • Operate manual powder coating spray systems and related equipment.
    • Apply powder to parts using proper techniques to achieve required coverage and finish.
    • Adjust equipment settings (voltage, air pressure, powder flow) to match job requirements.
  • Part Preparation & Handling
    • Inspect and clean parts prior to coating (may include masking, hanging, or wiping down).
    • Properly hang or rack parts for optimal coating and cure performance.
  • Quality Control
    • Check coating thickness with gauges and perform visual inspections for coverage, defects, or color consistency.
    • Report and correct any non-conforming finishes or application issues.
    • Follow work instructions and part-specific quality standards.
  • Equipment Maintenance & Safety
    • Perform daily equipment checks, cleaning of guns, hoppers, and booths.
    • Report maintenance needs to the supervisor or maintenance team.
    • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety protocols.
  • Productivity & Communication
    • Maintain steady workflow to meet daily production targets.
    • Accurately record production data and material usage.
    • Communicate part shortages, quality concerns, or equipment issues in a timely manner.

 

Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience in powder coating or industrial painting preferred.
  • Ability to safely operate coating equipment and handle parts up to 50 lbs.
  • Basic understanding of coating thickness, cure, and surface prep.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.
  • Ability to follow instructions and complete documentation.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a team-oriented environment.
  • Willing and able to pass respirator certifications.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Forklift experience or certification.

 

Work Environment

  • Physically active role: frequent standing, bending, lifting, and reaching.
  • Hot, dusty, and noisy environment with proper ventilation and PPE provided.
  • Must be able to work on a flexible shift schedule, including overtime if needed.

Position Summary

The Powder Coat Support Operator plays a key role in preparing and handling parts before and after the powder coating process. This position supports blasting, masking, loading/unloading, material staging, and general housekeeping to maintain a safe, efficient, and high-quality coating workflow.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Part Preparation
    • Clean parts using solvent wipes, air blow-off, or other prep techniques.
    • Mask parts according to job traveler or instructions to protect no-coat areas.
  • Loading and Unloading
    • Hang, rig, or position parts on racks safely and correctly.
    • Unload parts after cure and assist in inspection or touch-up as needed.
    • Handle parts with care to avoid damage or contamination.
  • Material Handling & Staging
    • Move raw parts, coated parts, and finished goods using carts, pallet jacks, or forklifts (if certified).
    • Maintain organized staging areas for efficient part flow.
    • Assist with incoming part counts and labeling if needed.
  • Clean-Up & Housekeeping
    • Clean and maintain powder coating booths, floors, tools, and prep areas daily.
    • Dispose of spent materials and waste according to environmental guidelines.
    • Support general shop cleanliness and compliance with safety protocols.
  • Team Support
    • Work closely with operators and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow.
    • Cross-train in blasting, masking, and basic coating tasks to increase flexibility.
    • Assist with setup and changeovers between jobs.

 

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or coating environment preferred.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work on feet, and perform physical tasks for full shift.
  • Comfortable using hand tools, PPE, and handling industrial components.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on safety, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Willing to learn and take direction in a fast-paced environment.
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain is a plus.
  • Willing and able to pass respirator certifications.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.

The Powder Coat Surface Preparation Operator is responsible for preparing metal components by removing rust, scale, coatings, and contaminants using abrasive blasting and chemical wash techniques. This role plays a critical part in ensuring proper surface profile and cleanliness to support high-quality powder coating results. The ideal candidate values precision, safety, and consistent throughput.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Surface Preparation
    • Operate blast or wash equipment (walk in booths, steel shot blast and steam wash) to clean and profile metal surfaces.
    • Inspect incoming parts for contamination, damage, or prep issues before blasting.
  • Quality Standards
    • Ensure surfaces meet required cleanliness and profile levels using provided gauges.
    • Perform visual and tactile inspections to confirm adequate prep.
    • Identify and correct incomplete or inconsistent blasting/washing.
  • Equipment Operation & Maintenance
    • Monitor blast pressure, nozzle wear, and media levels.
    • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of blasting equipment, dust collectors, and PPE.
    • Notify maintenance or supervisor of any equipment malfunctions.
  • Material Handling
    • Properly stage prepped parts for coating or move to holding areas.
    • Manipulate and move large frames once racked using proper equipment (motorized pallet jacks).
  • Safety & Compliance
    • Wear required PPE including blast hood, respirator, and hearing protection.
    • Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas.

 

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of industrial sandblasting or surface prep experience preferred.
  • Understanding of surface cleanliness and profile standards for coating applications.
  • Ability to work in full PPE for extended periods in dusty, noisy environments.
  • Capable of lifting and maneuvering parts up to 75 lbs; overhead lifting may be required.
  • Ability to climb ladders and step stools as needed to assist in processing.
  • Reliable, safety-conscious, and attentive to detail.
  • Willing and able to pass respirator certifications.
