Why Work Here?

Help WPI turn emerging AI capability into practical, secure, business-ready solutions. This is a hands-on opportunity to build a new enterprise AI function from the ground up while working directly with teams across the business to improve how work gets done.

About the Role

The AI Solutions & Enablement Lead owns the practical advancement of artificial intelligence across WPI. This position combines hands-on solution delivery, business partnership, responsible AI governance, and employee enablement.

The right candidate will be comfortable moving from whiteboard discussion to prototype, from prototype to production, and from production to measurable business value. This is not a research-only or policy-only role; it requires someone who can personally build, test, document, launch, support, and improve AI-enabled solutions.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead WPI’s enterprise AI roadmap, use-case backlog, solution inventory, and implementation priorities.
  • Partner with business, operations, Construction Systems, IT, Security, Compliance, and other teams to identify practical AI and automation opportunities.
  • Design, prototype, configure, test, document, deploy, and improve AI assistants, Copilot agents, workflow automations, document-review solutions, and integrations.
  • Build primarily within WPI’s enterprise technology ecosystem, including Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, Power Platform, SharePoint, Teams, Azure services where justified, APIs, connectors, and approved integration platforms.
  • Translate business needs into clear requirements, success measures, support models, and maintainable solutions.
  • Evaluate when AI is the right answer—and when conventional automation, process improvement, reporting, or no technology change is the better path.
  • Establish lightweight standards for solution intake, design, testing, approval, deployment, monitoring, documentation, and retirement.
  • Ensure AI solutions are secure, supportable, documented, and aligned with WPI’s governance, privacy, data-handling, contractual, and compliance expectations.
  • Develop practical training, office hours, guides, reusable prompts, templates, and communications that help employees use approved AI tools responsibly.
  • Measure adoption, value, quality, risk, cost, and user feedback, then continuously improve solutions and the broader AI program.

What We’re Looking For

  • Five or more years of experience in enterprise technology, business systems, automation, integration, digital transformation, solution delivery, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience taking a business-facing technology, automation, analytics, AI, or workflow solution from discovery through operational use.
  • Practical understanding of generative AI concepts, including LLMs, grounding/RAG, prompts, instructions, agents, tool use, structured outputs, and human review.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, Power Platform, Copilot, Copilot Studio, Azure, or comparable enterprise platforms.
  • Working knowledge of APIs, connectors, authentication, JSON, webhooks, and integration concepts.
  • Ability to map business processes, gather requirements, prioritize opportunities, define acceptance criteria, and measure outcomes.
  • Strong judgment regarding security, privacy, permissions, confidential information, compliance, and responsible AI use.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, teaching, documentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently in ambiguity, manage competing priorities, and move work from idea to production.

Nice to Have

  • Construction, specialty-contractor, field-service, manufacturing, or project-based industry experience.
  • Experience with Procore, construction data, document-control workflows, ITSM, ERP, compliance/GRC, or contract-review use cases.
  • Experience with Power Automate, Power Apps, Dataverse, Azure AI/Foundry, Purview, Power BI, Microsoft Graph, SQL, PowerShell, Python, or similar tools.
  • Experience developing adoption programs, champions networks, office hours, role-based training, or practical enablement materials.
  • Familiarity with responsible AI, AI governance, security frameworks, NIST AI RMF, Microsoft Responsible AI guidance, ISO/IEC 42001, or similar standards.
  • Relevant Microsoft Copilot, Power Platform, Azure AI, security, or project-management credentials.

Work Environment

  • Primarily office-based with responsibilities across the organization.
  • Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to support maintenance, upgrades, releases, or operational needs.
  • Limited travel may be required, but is expected to be infrequent.

Compensation

Compensation is commensurate with experience, qualifications, and demonstrated skills.

Career Growth

WPI is committed to developing and promoting talented team members. This role offers a growth path into AI program leadership, business-systems strategy, enterprise automation, solution architecture, digital transformation, governance, and broader technology leadership as WPI expands its use of AI and intelligent workflow solutions.
