The WPI Portland team was proud to support the American Heart Association: Oregon and SW Washington Heart and Stroke Walk this year. We had a big turnout this year over 40 participants walking in this years event. As a company we were able to raise over $12,000 in donations for the American Heart Association.
This years event was held in Downtown Portland. Thousands of walkers started at the Tom McCall Waterfront Park walking across the Hawthorne Bridge down the East waterfront, over the Tilikum Bridge, and finally back to the finish line on the West waterfront. Overall, the fundraising efforts have raised nearly $690,000 for the American Heart Association which will go towards funding for heart disease and stroke research, professional training, standardization of procedures, and community awareness education. A special thank you to everyone who came out to support this great cause.
