This Veteran’s Day, around 30 WPI employees volunteered their time  with Habitat for Humanity to help in the construction of two homes for families in the Salem community. In one day the crew of volunteer carpenters were able to completely hang all the drywall for both homes in the duplex. Our team was split up into two crews who made a friendly competition out of who could complete hanging the drywall the fastest in each side of the duplex. In the following weeks, WPI tapers also volunteered to complete all the taping and finishing for both homes.

These two homes were built through Habitat for Humanity’s “Thrivent Faith Build” and “Heroes with Heart Veteran Build.” The Ramos-Gasca family and the Wuelfing family were the two  family’s selected to receive these homes based on their specific needs and willingness to volunteer their own time in support of the work Habitat for Humanity does in their community. WPI is proud to support such a great organization that does so much for so many families in our community.
