The Project Manager facilitates the planning and delivery of the projects from setup to close out. The Project Manager is responsible for managing projects to maximize safety, quality, and profits for WPI. The Project Manager will work out of WPI’s office in Sumner, Washington and will work on projects across western Washington.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure a smooth transition from Estimator handoff to Project Manager.
  • Review contract language, scope of work, and special provisions in the contract. Make sure project team members are aware of these items.
  • Get material, subcontractor, and engineering quotes.
  • Verify quantities, units, and hours in the reverse takeoff process.
  • Set up the project in the Vista project management software.
  • Establish budget cost codes and units with the Foreman to be used on the project.
  • Verify the original budget has been agreed upon by all parties before it is entered into Vista.
  • Prepare and submit product information, samples, and shop drawings.
  • Review the project schedule and prepare a manpower schedule.
  • Support and visit assigned job sites and participate in job meetings as required.
  • Price change requests and update the budget promptly.
  • Prepare, review, and report weekly productions.
  • Review the weekly job cost report with the project Foreman and team.
  • Prepare billings and approve invoices for payment.
  • Track progress and spending, ensuring the work is completed on time and within budget.
  • Prepare a monthly cost projection for the job and review it with the project team.
  • Document and save all job-related information in the job folder. Ensure that everyone on the project team is kept up-to-date concerning correspondence.
  • Be creative in the development of new systems, forms, and ideas for increased efficiencies.
  • Be proactive in supporting safety plans and practices.
  • Attend major project walks at 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%.
  • Support, educate, mentor, and develop future leaders.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience in Drywall/Steel Stud Framing required.
  • 3-5 years of experience preferred.
  • Experience using OST/Quick Bid preferred.
  • Project management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Critical-thinker and problem-solver
  • Local to Sumner area preferred.

Compensation is dependent on experience and qualifications.
